Behind the name Konstvandringar Stockholm (Art Tours in Stockholm) you’ll find three authorized professional Stockholm guides, who are specialized in art, architecture and design. We are offering art and design tours in Swedish, English, German and Italian for private parties and groups as well as museum visits and city sightseeing in Stockholm and surrounding areas.
A city walk is an excellent way to get to know a city. In Stockholm you’ll find hundreds of public sculptures and art works as well as interesting architecture from the Middle Ages until the 21st Century. Here are just some examples of different tours we are offering for private groups.
On the beautiful and peaceful island of Skeppsholmen the Modern Museum of Art is located. The museum also owns an excellent collection of outdoor sculptures made by artists such as Alexander Calder, Per Kirkeby and Pablo Picasso. During the Art Walk you will hear more about the art, the artists and the special architecture of the island.
Hammarby Sjöstad is an exciting new district in Stockholm where the City has imposed tough environmental requirements on buildings, technical installations and the traffic environment. The project started in the 1990’s and is still under development. When everything is ready in around 2018 some 30 000 persons will live here in some 11 500 apartments. During the walk you will hear more about the special urban design of the district, the architecture and the many pieces of contemporary art work, which you will find in this neighbourhood.
Stockholm Metro is sometimes known as the longest Art Gallery of the world. More than 90 of the 100 stations are beautifully decorated with art from the 1950’s until our days. During a tour in the Metro you will be able to visit several stations and see examples of different kind of art and architecture.
Stockholm was never destroyed by any war in modern time but some essential political decisions made in the 1950´s changed our City centre for ever. When new areas are planned the policy today is to use if it is possible one or a few older buildings as a memory of the past. The walk starts from Riddarholmen then continuing to Norrmalm, the Shopping districts and ends in Östermalm. During the walk you will see a variety of buildings from the 17th Century up to present day.
The cost for a 1,5 hour tour, maximum 25 people is:
SEK 3,000 (incl. 25 % VAT) weekdays until 5 pm
SEK 3,375 (incl. 25 % VAT) weekdays after 5 pm and weekends
